Children's Voice and Participation
We have an array of committees and events where the boys can have an input into decision making in the school and have their thoughts and ideas discussed and shared.
Such committees include the Amber Flag Committee, Green Schools Committee, Active Flag Committee, Gardening Club and Student Council. Along with these committees we hold weekly assemblies where the boys can share their talents with the whole school.
We were delighted to welcome RTE News Today to our school in October. The boys were super ambassadors for the school. A huge thank you to Mr. Geoghegan, Darragh(SNA), Mark and the Garden Club for their ongoing efforts in promoting our fabulous outdoor environment and biodiversity and sustainability.
We have a Multiculturalism Committee which celebrates our one big school with children from 38 countries attending.
The Multiculturalism Committee prepares presentations of the different countries, cultures and festivals to teach our school community.
The boys also have an active part in the organisation of the Christmas Fair and the Student Council run a Games Room which is proving to be very popular indeed.
Boys in 6th class also help at our Incoming Infant Parent Evening by giving a tour of the school and sharing their insights into school life here in Johnstown.
